International Inspiring Women Network Foundation (IIWNF) is
committed to sustainable development in KZN
The IIWNF was officially launched in KZN at the end of October
30 to establish a local footprint to focus on creating new paths of
communication and alternative ways of thinking to bring together the different
socio-cultural identities that make up the diverse global communities.
"We abhor manipulating outcomes and believe in
broadening opportunities and the time is right as the quickening of Africa’s
economic pulse is bathing the continent in new economically viable
opportunities and vibrancy. With the business world’s gaze turned to the
African continent, we need more than an understanding of the dynamics of the
current landscape,” says Anusha Singh, Founder and CEO of IIWNF.
“Africa’s growth is projected to accelerate to between 5%
and 6% in 2015, levels last seen before the 2009 global recession,” she
continues. “It is our mandate to ensure that we respond to the opportunities
that this forecast presents, for the benefit of our Women and Youth. We need to
create change, educate and equip our women and youth to overcome the challenges
of poverty, unemployment, abuse and violence.”
IIWNF focus is on empowering women and the immediate goal is
to break the cycle of poverty and build a better life for over 2,000 women
entrepreneurs, help establish 1000 new businesses, and create 3,000 new jobs
for women in KZN – many of whom were previously employed in the textile
industry.
