On November 29 there was much foot stomping, drum beats and
celebrations from the uShaka Marine World Zulu Dance Championship finals. The
event was presented by Department of Arts and Culture and ten Zulu dance
troupes finalists from around the province competed for the title, showing off
their talents while creating a wonderful display of entertainment for visitors
and judges alike.
Overall, there could only be one winning troupe, with Umlazi
African Jingle Dance Troupe. Retaining their 2014 title, they who took the R10,000
in cash, a floating trophy as well as year-long contract with uShaka Marine
World valued at R600,000.
