CELEBRATION TIME WITH PLATFORM JAZZ

Once more Platform Jazz will kick off the year at the Rhumbelow Theatre with a show titled Celebration Time running over two weekends from January 15 to 24.

“Everyone at sometime in their lives has either been to or had a party. We all celebrate milestones in our lives such as birthdays, engagements, weddings, achievements, certain holidays etc, and this is done by being with people, having fun, consuming food and drink, dressing up, singing and dancing!”, says Platform Jazz which is set to bring you jazz party favourites from the gangster and Great Gatsby parties, evergreen tunes from the Swing era, conga line latin favourites and songs that just celebrate life.

Listen out for great favourites such as Mac the Knife, Feeling Good, Rum and Coca Cola, Tequila!, Here’s to life, Lets Fall In Love, Cest si bon, What a Wonderful World and Happy to name a few. Join Jeff Judge on the sax, Dunc the Hunc on the trombone, Kirsten The Kitten on the clarinet, Melvin Peters on the keys, Andreas on the bass, Bashful Bruce on the drums, Songbird Shelley McLean and Cathy Hotlips Peacock on the trumpet.

Performances take place on Fridays (January 15 and 22) at 20h00; Saturdays (January 16 and 23) at 14h00 and 20h00. There will be one performnace on January 17 at 14h00 and on January 24, there will be two performances (14h00 and 18h30). The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner. Bring food picnic baskets, braais will be available for those who wish to cook some meat and there is a bar available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises)
