The Hilton College and St. Alban's
College music departments will present a combined evening of musical
entertainment at Hilton College on February 17.
Come listen to a varied music
programme performed by the St. Alban's school choir, barbershop ensemble,
school band, gumboot dancers and drum circle. In return, Hilton College equally
entertain with their excellent school choir, enchanting vocal ensemble, dynamic
jazz band and award-winning marimba band.
The St Alban's College Roadshow is
a group of 63 students which consists of their choir, Barbershop Boys, Big
Band, Drum Circle and a number of smaller performing groups and individuals,
including a small group of gumboot dancers.
The Choir competed in the World
Choir Games in Austria in 2008 and won a silver medal. Along with the
Barbershop and other performers, they also toured through Europe, USA and China
in 2008, 2010 and 2015. The full choir has 101 members, but only 38 members are
on the Road Show. The chairman is Richard van Coeverden de Groot and the
director is Lhente-Mari Pitout. The music ranges from religious to Rock and
Africa rhythms.
The combined concert tkes place on
February 17 at 18h30 in the Hilton College Memorial Hall. Tickets R50 available
