The Dutch, Umhlanga’s much-loved music and tapas bar and favourite spot for those who care about quality, whether it’s the music they listen to or the whiskey they drink, has been given a brand new look and will officially open its doors on March 4.
Renzo Scribante, the powerhouse behind the brand, has been working
tirelessly with his team to create a new face for The Dutch and carry it into a
new era. The result? A premium dining
and entertainment experience.
The brand new 100-seater space, with tables both inside and
out, boasts simple, yet stylish décor. Think classic white tablecloths, elegant
lanterns, silver service and a menu inspired by the 70’s. There are even some
old-school classics on the dessert offering to tempt those with a sweet tooth.
As a premium entertainment venue, The Dutch welcomes live acts
from all genres to the stage, including jazz, funk, pop and more. The Dutch’s
live entertainment programme will now also cater for stand-up comedy. With
Durban’s live comedy scene heating up, the creation of another venue to support
local comedic talent is highly welcome.
The Dutch will open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
evenings and patrons can enjoy cocktails and tapas until 19h00 and thereafter
settle in for a three-course meal from the dinner menu. There will be a cover
charge on Friday and Saturday evenings and the top-notch
entertainment line-up can be seen online at www.thedutch.co.za
Bookings for both dinner and entertainment on the weekends is
essential and this can be done online at www.thedutch.co.za For Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings,

The venue will close at midnight, so patrons are advised to

following shortly after at 22h00. All last minute arrivals who have forgotten
to book will be dealt with on an availability basis, bearing in mind that the
kitchen closes at 22h00.
