The UKZN School of Arts (music) will present a free Lunch
hour concert by AMD 3 group three featuring Thandeka Cele, Zanele Gcwabaza,
Syanda Gumede and Thobile Mbanjwa on March 16.
The group has chosen the theme Articulating our African culture. They want to elaborate the
importance of celebrating culture through art. During their show, they want to
remind audiences who may have abandoned their culture that there is nothing
wrong with celebrating where one comes from.
Expect to see and hear some high energy Amahubo by Cele and
Gcwabaza, percussion by Mbanjwa and Gumede. Other highlights will be African
modern dance, isicathamiya, and Shiyamani (Ingoma)
The concert will take place on March 16 at 12h15 at Howard
College Theatre on the UKZN campus.
