Friends of Music’s next recital on April 5 will be performed
by Miki Aoki who is recognized for her diverse abilities as pianist and as a
collaborative artist.
She made her London Royal Festival Hall debut at the age of
12. She has performed with major orchestras such as the National Symphony
Orchestra and the London Soloist Chamber Orchestra. Her performances have also
been broadcast live on radio stations in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the
US.
Her programme will include works by Milhaud, Poulenc, Mili
Balakirev, Schubert and Chopin.
The Prelude Performer for the evening will be 17 year-old singer
Simesihle Nothando Nkosi who is studying with Amina Carini. Her programme
features That Ole' Devil called love -
Holiday accompanied by Tazlo Jacobs
as well as two classical pieces accompanied by Carini.
The recital takes place on April 5 at 19h30 at the Durban
Jewish Centre, 44 K E Masinga (Old Fort) Road, Durban. Tickets R100 (R80 FOM members
