Directed in 2013 by David Gordon Green, the drama is a
heart-rending story of a boy who strives against all odds to bring his brutal,
abusive father onto the straight and narrow. Oscar winner Nicholas Cage stars
as a loner who teaches the boy everything he needs to know about loyalty and
honour.
Fifteen-year-old Gary is often brutally beaten by his
father, and when he lands a job with Joe, a decent man with good values, his
father nearly ruins his chance of creating a better life for himself. Gary
forgives easily – until his father commits an unspeakable misdeed... and Gary
