Deadline June 6 &
7, 2016
The Playhouse Company is holding auditions for performers
from community groups who would like to be considered for this year's Community
Arts Mentorship Programme (CAMP), which will take place between July and
September 2016.
“Funding from The Department of Arts and Culture’s Incubator
Programme enables us to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to community-based
actors to enhance and advance their performance-related skills under the
tutelage of programme director, Ralph Lawson. This is a wonderful opportunity
for community actors to learn from one of the very best in the country and to
take what they have learned back to their communities,” says Linda Bukhosini,
Playhouse CEO and Artistic Director.
Those actors who are accepted into the programme will
participate in daily workshops that focus on basic training in a range of drama
disciplines, including voice production, acting technique, stage design, script
writing and stage management.
Please note that daily commitment is required in order to
take part and only adults will be auditioned. Actors interested in auditioning
for the CAMP programme should book an audition by calling 031 369 9463 on June 6
and 7 from 09h00 to 12h00 and from 14h00 to 16h00.
Auditions will be held in Studio A1 (Playhouse Head Office)
at 09h00 on June 20. Those wishing to audition should prepare a poem that they
can perform. Please note that you might be required to wait for your audition.
