LET THERE BE LOVE

(Gary McKenzie, John Didlick & Grant Bell)

The highly popular Gee Jays - John Didlick, Gary McKenzie and Grant Bell - will present their show Let There be Love for Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban as well as in Pietermaritzburg.

In a world of injustice, corruption and hatred, The Gee Jays thought it was time for us all to lighten up a little, and so to this end they have compiled a lighthearted look at all things we call “Love”. Let There Be Love is a lighthearted musical comedy compilation of love songs from all eras and genres.

As The Gee Jays celebrate their 31st year together, they thought this would be a wonderfully nostalgic way to celebrate. Expect to see the usual mirth, frivolity and eye twinkling. It’s described as “a perfect evening of romantic escapism, whilst exploring this thing called love”.

Expect to hear songs like Hello Young Lovers, Can’t Help Falling In Love, Love Potion No 9, Love Grows, Let Your Love Flow, To Love Somebody, That’s Amore,  Love Is In The Air, Let Your Love Flow,  Love Is All Around, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and of course - Let There Be Love.

Performances at Rhumbelow in Durban will take place from June 17 to 26 with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 20h00 and on Sundays at 14h00 and 18h30. (The show on June 19 at 18h30 will be a fundraiser)

There will be two shows on July at the Alan Wilson Shellhole in Pietermaritzburg on July 10 at 14h00 and 18h30.

In both cases, the venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner.

Tickets R140 (R120 pensioners & block bookings of 8 or more). Bring food picnic baskets. Braais will be available at the Durban run for those who wish to cook some meat. There is limited secure parking and a bar is available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises)
