This evening (June 15) at 17h30 for 18h00, Rob Young will
present a walkabout titled Specialized
Structural Engineering & the KZNSA
The walkabout takes a look at translating architectural
vision and concept into a complimentary structural engineered building
In 1994 an international competition was held to select a
design for a gallery for the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts. Young UKZN
graduates Michál Cohen and Cindy Walters submitted the winning design and, 20
years later, the building remains contemporary, robust, flexible and aesthetically
pleasing.
Rob Young is a partner at Durban based consulting structural
engineering firm, Young & Satharia, and the lead structural engineer for
the King Shaka International Airport buildings and International Convention
Centre roof.
The KZNSA Gallery
