Movies Showcase on DStv Channel 107 will present the action thriller trilogy The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy
and The Bourne Ultimatum on July 4, 5
and 6 at 20h00:
July 4: The Bourne Identity. Directed by Doug Liman in 2002, the movie
features Matt Damon, Franka Potente and Chris Cooper. Fishermen rescue a badly
wounded man. He recovers, but cannot even recall his own name. A surgically
implanted microchip offers the first clue to his identity, but his effort to
assemble the puzzle will be tougher than he thought: men in positions of power
want him dead.
Matt Damon was initially regarded “too soft” for
the role of Jason Bourne. Brad Pitt, Sylvester Stallone and Russell Crowe, who
had proven track records in action thrillers, were unavailable. Damon stepped
in and not only pulled it off brilliantly, but also performed his own stunts.
