The Wedding Singer

tone for several similar roles to follow, while female lead Drew Barrymore
re-established herself as a box-office drawcard after a dip in popularity.
Wedding singer Robbie (Adam Sandler) is left at the altar by
his fiancé. He is consoled by a pretty waitress (Drew Barrymore) and soon
discovers he has fallen in love with her. Alas, she is engaged to a successful
businessman. On a flight to Las Vegas, Robbie gets an unexpected opportunity to
test her feelings for him.
