TROUBADOUR COSTUME HIRE CLOSURE

It is with a great sense of sadness that the closure is announced of Troubadour Costume Hire after 30 years in the theatre and entertainment industry. The untimely passing of Troubadour’s founder, Peter Gardner, in May last year marked the end of an era. Efforts have been made to keep Peter’s legacy going over the last few months, but without his expertise and mechanical knowledge as regards cartoon character creation, it has proved impossible.

The building has to be vacated by the end of March, and the only way to move everything out is by means of an “EVERYTHING MUST GO” clearance sale at rock-bottom prices. There are over 6,000 costumes and outfits up for sale, along with the tools of the trade – sewing machines, fabric, props, sound equipment and much more – far too many items to mention individually.

Please spread the word through the theatre communities, then come and browse through Troubadour, and take away a piece or two of Durban history. You’ll be amazed at the range of items available.

The sale starts tomorrow (Friday) March 17th from 13h00. Open Mondays to Fridays 09h00 to 17h00 and Saturdays from 09h00 to 12 noon.

Troubadour Productions is situated at 292 Jan Smuts Highway, Mayville. Phone 031 209 2817/8.
NB: THE SALE WILL ALSO BE OPEN ON THE PUBLIC HOLIDAY - TUESDAY (MARCH 21)
