The 2017 National Creative Arts Youth
Festival’s Drum For Joy! Steel Drum Band Competition was held at the Elizabeth
Sneddon Theatre on May 10, 2017.
In an exhilarating morning of energy and
youthful musical creativity, numerous learners from 12 (9 primary and 3 high)
schools eagerly entered into the spirit of the event.
First prize of the Primary School
Competition went to St Patrick’s School with St Marys DSG coming second and Kokstad
Primary School Junior Grade 6 in third place.
The High School Competition was won by
Inanda with Hillcrest High School coming second and Inanda Grade 8 in third
place.
Warner Beach won the Spirit Trophy.
