It is with regret that the managements of
Wavehouse at Gateway and the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra have announced the
cancellation of the scheduled Mother’s Day concert due to take place on Sunday
afternoon, May 14.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the concert
became practically no longer feasible.
“Unfortunately, circumstances beyond our
control have made this concert no longer possible at this time. Mother’s Day
would have been the perfect occasion to enjoy our programme of easy-listening,
celebratory and nostalgic music” said CEO Bongani Tembe. “However we have a
bumper line-up ahead and hope our concert patrons will catch the orchestra’s
remarkable music at another opportunity in the near future,” he said.
Existing ticket holders may get a refund
through Computicket.
The KZN Philharmonic in association with
the South African Society of Music Teachers presents the KZN Young Performers
Concert on May 20 in the Playhouse Drama. This is a very special once-off
concert where the cream of KZN’s music and vocal students get an opportunity to
perform live with Africa’s premier orchestra. Tickets from Computicket.
The KZN Philharmonic presents its World
Symphony Winter Season weekly at 19h30 from June 1 to 22 every Thursday evening
in the Durban City Hall. Tickets from Computicket.
Of special mention to supporters of
youthful global music-makers is the opening concert on June 1 which features
the Yale University Glee Club Choir led by Dr Jeffrey Douma performing
Beethoven’s Mass in C major, Op. 86.
