(Zoe The Seed)
In
association with Concerts SA, iSupport Music Business presents Zoe The Seed
Live in concert. Zoe The Seed and her band will visit Eshowe on May 28 when she
will give a live performance to MC Lounge in King Dinuzulu Township. On May 29,
she will perform two concerts for various high and primary schools in the
region.
Zoe The
Seed is a qualified jazz vocalist from Swaziland based in Durban. Most of her
compositions consist of her own compositions that showcase her Swazi lyric
flare of writing. Additionally, she is influenced by South African jazz, gospel
and world music. All those influences together resulted in a sultry African
modal sound that tackles everyday issues and include songs about the forever
rising statistic of child and women abuse affecting many South Africans.
Zoe The
Seed has shown immense interest in bringing music awareness in communities and
schools. As a facilitator at the Bat Centre she was exposed to being a music
educator, a mentor and a friend to her students. Through the support of
iSupport Music Business and Concerts SA, she has provided workshops to
facilities like Amatikulu Primary School and Albert Luthuli museum, educating
young learners about jazz music and how it affects our music industry.
It is
through music educators like Neil Gonsalves, Susan Barry and Demi Fernandes who
groomed the art of Jazz in her and were a huge inspiration to become and do
more. Zoe The Seed has worked with many musicians like Mbuso Khoza, Allou
April, Lex Futshane etc. For some years, she was the drummer for Heels Over
Head, a Durban based all-female jazz band, then left to pursue her own vocal
career. She’s currently independently working on her debut album and studying
at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Zoe The
Seed’s accompaniment for this performance includes Zibusiso Makhathini on
keyboard, Sbu Zondi on Drums and Dalisu Ndlazi on bass guitar.

support act, Good Reflection Jazz Band, will perform alongside Zoe The Seed This

members: Collen Alexander, Kenneth Mendluli, Ernest Shange and Sakhephi
Buthelezi. In 2017, they recorded a six-track album titled Anger that is due for release in June 2017.
This
series of performances by Zoe The Seed in Eshowe is part of the Concerts SA

communities, as well as anchor small and medium sized venues in urban and rural
Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape.
