(Members
of the KZN Youth Orchestra)
The KZN Youth Orchestra will present an
educational concert and interactive workshop at the Blue Roof Life Space in Austerville
on June 16 at 11h30.
This is a centre that offers a space where
children, youth and their families can heal, dream and create. It offers a safe
and confidential place to seek age-appropriate health care and support, for the
illnesses that threaten the future of the community; including HIV, abuse,
malnutrition and mental-health illnesses. Guidance and support for students and
young adults is offered to assist them in making the right subject and career
choice, and to link them into job or entrepreneurial opportunities and
workshops are offered to children and youth to explore, create and learn
through art, dance, photography and film workshops, music, maker-space and
after-school programmes.
The KZN Youth Orchestra members themselves
will be demonstrating the various instruments and the Blue Roof Centre dancers
will dance to two of their pieces.
It is a day that will celebrate youth. Entrance
is free!
The Blue Roof Life Space is situated at 178
