organization offering educational events and courses to the general public in
the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
LLLkzn will present episodes from the BBC
TWO Documentary series: The Story of
China at the British Cultural and Heritage Society in Glenwood, Durban
The guide is Michael David Wood an English
historian and broadcaster. He has presented numerous well-known TV
documentaries as well as written several books on English history.
In this documentary series (6 episodes),
Wood explores the history of the world’s newest superpower, from its ancient
past to the present day. He embarks on a great historical adventure, exploring
the stories, people and landscapes that have helped create China’s distinctive
character and genius over 4000 years.
The programme is as follows:
July 19: The Ming Dynasty (Episode #4)
August 2: The Last Empire (Episode #5)
August 16: The Age of Revolution (Episode #6)
The screenings will take place from 10h30 to
12 noon at the British Cultural and Heritage Society, Ferguson Road, Lower
Glenwood in Durban. Entrance R40 cash at door includes refreshments. (Subscriber
