HILTON ARTS FESTIVAL - FEAST FOR DAY TRIPPERS

Not keen to drive at night? The Hilton Arts Festival schedule has been designed with you in mind. September 16 and 17 could be theatre and music packed for you.

Among the day-time shows on offer are: A Tribute to Vera Lynn, A Nightingale Sang to commemorate Dame Vera Lynn’s 100th birthday – in a nostalgic memory and songbook featuring Anthony Stonier and Lisa Bobbert with Evan Roberts on piano (September 16 at 15h00 and September 17 at noon); Classically trained pianists, Carin van Graan and Chanie Jonker perform an early morning programme of Brahms’s waltzes and Hungarian Dances (September 17 at 09h30); another classical music offering, Maestro Christopher Duigan will be in concert to celebrate Music Revival’s 20th year, in a programme of Chris’s favourite music (September 16 at 10h00) and Songs My Mother Taught Me (September 17 at 11h30).

Charming, funny and talented Ian von Memerty presents his celebration of Eight of the Greats of piano in his Keyboard Killers (September 16 at 15h45 and September 17 at 15h30); Piano Violin and Horn sees concert pianist Andrew Warburton performing with acting concert master, Violeta and Sorin Osorhean from the KZN Philharmonic in a delightful programme of spring-themed music (September 16 at 14h00); Old Man and the Sea – from the creators of the delightful Snow Goose, (S September 16 at 17h00 and September 17 at 15h00); Tie (another) Knot in It with the combined talents of Bryan Hiles, Darren King and Rowan Bartlett perform Rat Pack, Andrew Sisters, Bette Midler and more (September 16 at 5h00 and September 17 at noon) and finally Hooray for Hollywood with Anthony Stonier (September 16 at 15h00 and September 17 at 14h15)

Also, the huge selection of art exhibitions, craft stalls, free stages, books, discussion sessions and dining options will all be available during the day for day trippers.
