Auditions for the KZN Youth Orchestra will be held in room
503 at the Playhouse in Acutt Street in Durban on October 13 from 13h30 to 17h00
and October 14 from 08h30 to 17h00.
Online entries are available on the website www.kznyo.co.za
and must be received by October 10.
Entrants must be of a grade 3 musical level for the Shadow
Orchestra and grade 5 for the main orchestra. They must be between the ages of
12 and 23. Candidates will need to play two contrasting pieces and a couple of
scales.
KZN Youth Orchestra, which is planning a tour to Mauritius
in July next year, plays a variety of music from Baroque and classical to jazz,
film music and contemporary ethnic pieces.
