VICTORIA RAW AT SOUND CAFÉ

(Victoria Raw)

Victoria Raw, Durban neo-soul singer-songwriter will be appearing on the stage of Sound Café with her band. Catch them live at Sound Café in Ballito on October 20 2017 from 19h00 till late.

Joined by a dynamic band, Raw blends elements of jazz, pop and neo-soul to create her signature afro-soul sound to her original songs and twist on popular covers including Nathi, Corrine Bailey Rae, Daughter and Adele. Victoria's style and lyrical approach is accompanied by Josh Swanson on guitar and Giyani Shangase on bass.

“You can expect jazzy renditions of popular covers and soulful original songs on this jazz Friday at Sound Café” says Victoria Raw.

With two degrees in music and drama under her belt, Victoria went on to perform and collaborate with Blvck Crystals for their 2016 Western Cape tour and has gone onto gig at various locations all over Durban including Amsterdam, Khaya Records, Station Drive’s First Thursdays and Brewhaus. As well as headlining at the 2017 DBN X Fest. Victoria’s unique sound and nuanced vocal range incorporates different elements to the performance.

The band recently played an open mic set at the 2017 White Mountain music festival and were subsequently booked for the festival in 2018. Victoria was also invited to join renowned gypsy-rock band Crimson House for a song during their White Mountain set. The band performed their first headliner show earlier on this year at The Jazzy Rainbow which debuted some of their original works with huge success and landed the band an opportunity to record their EPK with well-known Durban producer Daniel Basckin (SCKIN) due to be released in December. The band is planning a Cape Town tour in late January/February to get their soulful sound on the map.

Performance takes place at 19h00 on October 20 at the Sound Café, Warne House, 5 Garlicke Drive in Ballito. R50 entrance, email info@soundcafe.co.za for bookings or book online at www.soundcafe.co.za
