BURNS NIGHT

(Mim Erasmus & Danny Fisher)

Rhumbelow Theatre at Tina’s Hotel in Kloof will present a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns and all things Scottish with Burns Night featuring Mim Erasmus and Danny Fisher.

A Burns supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns, the author of many Scots poems. The suppers are normally held on or near the poet's birthday, January 25, occasionally known as Robert Burns Day (or Robbie Burns Day or Rabbie Burns Day) but more commonly known as Burns Night (Scots: Burns Nicht).

Share an evening of Scottish songs, stories and great fun with two of Durban's biggest stars.

“Mim Erasmus and Danny Fisher are both at the top of their respective genres in the music world. We all know Mim as the 'Queen of Folk' and Danny as a brilliant entertainer, singer and comedian.

“The combination of their talents for an evening dedicated mostly to Robert Burns, the bard of Scotland, is an opportunity not to be missed. Mim knows many of Burns original Scottish songs, like Ye banks and braes and My love is like a red, red rose, and Danny knows songs from Scotland, like The Scottish Soldier, I love a lassie and other crowd pleasers,” says Roland Stansell of Rhumbelow.

There will be other poems, pipers and piping hot haggis to guarantee an evening to remember.

Burns Night takes place on January 24 and 25 at 20h00. (Venue opens 90 minutes before show for drinks)
