Planning has begun for Intellectual
Property 2018. The year-long programme will kick off with a Business Breakfast
at the Alliance Française de Durban. This will take place on March 7, 2018.
“We are looking for twenty Artists to be
present with one piece of newly created work, which represents them and what
they are capable of. They will need to be at the Alliance from 07h00 to approximately
11h30 on the day,” explains Robin Opperman, who is organising the event.
Artists will also need to have a good
supply of business cards and to be able to talk about their work and their
planned participation at Intellectual Property 2018.
Those interested in being part of this
launch event, should contact Opperman (see details below) to discuss the work they
will exhibit.
Please note that the work must be new,
ready for hanging / display and smallish, as there is limited space at the
venue (for a painting or hanging - no bigger than 1 metre by 1 metre). There will
also be a fashion presentation, panel discussion and music.
“We look forward to artists being part of
this and promoting their work. Last year’s Business Breakfast was a great
opportunity for artists to meet and network,” adds Opperman.
The main Intellectual Property Event is
planned to take place at The Plant (5 Station Drive) provisionally to run on
October 5 and 6.
There is a Facebook Page up-and-running at
‘Intellectual Property Exhibition 2018”
- Please LIKE and refer any interested parties to the page.
The 2017 web site will soon be updated in
preparation for the 2018 event - www.ipexhibition.co.za
There will be an exhibition fee of R100 per
piece of work exhibited (with no commission on sales) and R1,000 for a Pop-Up
Shop. Also planned is an Affordable Art Fair as a micro-exhibition and some
digital component to the exhibition.
