KZNPO SUMMER SEASON FINAL REHEARSALS



The final rehearsals for the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra’s forthcoming Summer Season 2018 are open to the public and provide a glimpse into the preparation for a symphony concert. Entrance is R35 for adults & pensioners and R15 for scholars, and includes a cup of tea or coffee.

February 22 at 10h00: Conductor: Daniel Boico. Soloist: Anna Dmytrenko, piano
Liszt: Les préludes, S.97 (Symphonic Poem No. 3); Saint-Saëns: Piano Concerto No. 2 in g minor, Op. 22; Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 4 in f minor, Op. 36

March 1 at 10h00: Conductor: Kwamé Ryan. Soloist: Liesl Stoltz, flute
Fauré: Masques et bergamasques Suite, Op. 112: Overture; Chaminade: Concertino: Flute & Orchestra, D major, Op. 107; Debussy: Prelude a L’apres-midi d’un faune; Bizet/Borne: Carmen Fantasy for Flute and Orchestra, and Franck: Symphony in d minor

March 8 at 10h00: Conductor: Arjan Tien. Soloist: Daniel Röhn, violin
Ludwig van  Beethoven’s Concerto for Violin in D Major op.61 and Symphony No.3 Opus 55 in E Flat Major (Eroica)

March 15 at 10h00: Conductor: Arjan Tien. Soloists: Alexander and Max Baillie, cello and violin
Mozart: Overture to Don Giovanni, K. 527; Brahms: Double Concerto: Violin & Violoncello, a minor, Op. 102; Sibelius: Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 43
