The Playhouse Company, situated in Durban,
is looking to fill the position of Arts Manager.
The successful applicant will be
responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Manage all operational activities in
support of the execution of the Artistic programme
- Manage all staff-related matters and
functions as they pertain to the staff in the Arts department (Recruitment,
performance appraisals, disciplinary hearings, and training)
- Budgetary control, reporting and
Governance-related matters
The suitable incumbent will need to meet
the following minimum criteria in terms of qualifications, skills, competencies
and experience;
Qualifications
& Experience:
- Be in possession of a Matric;
- A relevant tertiary qualification in the
Performing Arts, or an appropriate qualification in music, drama, or dance
- Computer Literacy - MS office at
intermediate level
- Five years’ experience in a management
position in the field of the performing arts or theatre management;
- Theatre management experience in a
related government or public entity will be advantageous
Skills
and Competencies:
- Excellent business report writing skills,
- Business aptitude,
- Project management experience,
- Budgeting and forecasting,
- Management/supervisory experience and
- Knowledge of the performing arts.
