Revival will present a guitar duo with James Grace (SA) and Morgan Szymanski (Mexico)
Part of a return national tour of South
Africa, these two vituoso guitarists present a wonderful programme of music for
two guitars. The music will include mostly Spanish music by Ferdinando Carulli,
Manuel de Falla, Celso Machado and more.
Grace was the KANNA Award winner for Best
Male Artist at the 2010 ABSA KKNK, and more recently KykNET Fiesta winner. He
is one of one South Africa’s leading concert artists, having appeared with all
South Africa’s leading orchestras.
Szymanski was born in Mexico City in 1979.
He started playing the guitar at the age of six. Early studies at the National
Music School (Mexico) and the Edinburgh Music School led to a scholarship to
study at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London, He graduated in 2004 with
first class honours. He has performed as a soloist, and with orchestras, widely
around the world.
The concert takes place on March 20, 2018,
at 19h30 at the Durban Jewish Centre, KE Masinga (Old Fort) Road. There is
secure parking.
