The Naledi Theatre Awards have opened minds
and changed many lives. They reward excellence, promote the discovery of new
talent, build new audiences, and new ways of telling the stories of our country
and the world.
Live performance in theatre is a universal
cultural phenomenon that exists in every society and culture. Understanding
theatre helps us understand what it means to be human. For 14 years, the Naledi
Theatre Awards have recognised and celebrated the excellence, innovation and
ingenuity of the Performing Arts in South Africa. They are internationally recognised as the
benchmark of South African theatre.

judges sees over 80 productions per year and our office facilitates all the
work in 26 categories.
