Deadline: June 6, 2018
The KZNDAC in collaboration with KZN Youth Choir and ABRSM are conducting a workshop for choir
conductors.
The workshop provides an introduction to the ABRSM choir
singing syllabus.
Did you know that the Royal School of Music has a
qualification for choirs? This workshop is all about how you can lift the level
of your choir - so join us for a special introduction by the International
Clinical, Gerhard'd Du Toit (Conductor of the KZN Youth Choir and HOD: Music
Clifton School), Tristan Hiestermann
(KZN Youth Choir African Repertoire Conductor), Melindi Pretorius (M. Mus - studied in choir
conducting, music education and vocal performance in Jyväskylä, Finland and the
Royal College of Music, Stockholm), Judith Hawthorn (Conductor Drakondale Girls
Choir) and Bridget Harrison (Representative ABRSM).
"This syllabus is designed to support and motivate the
choral activity of a wide range of choirs, giving a sense of progression and
achievement from the earliest levels. As with all our assessments, the
performance is heard by one of our ABRSM examiners - all highly qualified,
experienced musicians. Whether you're a choral member, teacher or director, we
hope this syllabus inspires and supports your music learning or teaching.”
