The Centre for and Popular Music proudly presents Jokes & Jazz VII on August 28 at 18h00.

KZN's favourite comedy and jazz series is back for its seventh edition at UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music. The 90min outtake is one of the best rated and best attended evening entertainment experiences in South Africa.

Resident MC & Comedian Troy Tesla will anchor a fresh line- up loaded with the best comedians and jazz musicians sourced locally & internationally.

ON THE JOKES:
Straight Choons With Meshantan Naidoo - One of KZN's most recognisable comedian’s headlines supported by Long John Comedian (Zim) - who has performed from Europe, East & Southern Africa. Long John has also featured on DSTV's Live Series with Barry Hilton! Also, Medoodi Geneva and Mira from Cape Town will take the guest slot.

The show prides in diversity of it performers as well as thus the show will kick with a poetry interlude by Thembalethu 'Glory Child' Ntuli.

ON THE JAZZ:
Nosihe Zulu. The Pietermaritzburg born and raised singer, songwriter won the hearts of many people in KZN during Idols SA show in 2016. The end of her journey on Idols SA was just the beginning of her music career because she has never looked back!

Since enrolling for jazz studies 2016 at UKZN, she has been exploring many legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Betty Carter, Sarah Vaughn and some modern jazz artists like Lizz Wright and Gretchen Parlato. Locally, she has been touched by the music of Queens such as Mariam Makeba, Letta Mbuli and some of Busi Mhlongo’s older music

The show starts at 18h00 on August 28, 2018. General tickets R80 (R50 pensioners, R25 students). Tickets to Jokes & Jazz VII are available at the door or in advance online at www.Quicket.co.za
