(Anton Cawthorn-Blazeby,
Grant Emmerich, Sean Stewart & Jochen Zeller with Belinda Henwood in front )
The upgraded Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban will host The South
Jersey Pom-Poms in a show that invites audiences on a little detour – a Cabaret
style romp through the tawdry world of ‘Smoke & Mirrors’.
Performing their own songs in French, German, Italian &
English, and bringing their alter egos out to play, this promises to be a
joinder destined to sidetrack even the most resolute.
So, get out your gaudiest jewels, your fattest lipstick and
come along on a gallivant through a jumble of Pom-Poms originals like He Bought a New Face in America, Le Dernier
Mot and Drunken Bvlgarian Girls.
Durban’s own; straddling unruly the space between twilight
and youth, The South Jersey Pom-Poms are Grant Emmerich, Jochen Zeller, Sean
Stewart, Belinda Henwood and Anton Cawthorn-Blazeby.
The South Jersey Pom-Poms run from August 24 to 26 on Friday and Saturday at 20h00 and on Sunday
at 14h00. The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner.
Tickets R150 (R130
