The spirit of the “father” of Indian cinema, or the “first
superstar” or “original superstar” as he is known, lives on at Sibaya
Entertainment Kingdom & Resort in the Tribute
to Rajesh Khanna show on August 24 and 25, 2018.
Impersonator and look-alike, Mahesh Kumar, assumes the role
of Rajesh Khanna in this music and dance spectacular as he brings to life the
Bollywood actor, film producer and politician who starred in 15 consecutive
solo hit films in the period 1969 to 1971, a record still unbeaten. With
realistic looks and original dance moves, Khanna’s presence will almost be
tangible as Kumar entertains guests.
A Tribute to Rajesh
Khanna will feature Chetan Rana from India who also performed on Sony TV
for the show, K for Kishore finishing
in the top 2. Rana, who also performed in Durban for two previous sell out
shows, was a huge hit with fans and will be returning to South Africa by public
demand. Prepare to be taken on a nostalgic journey back in time to celebrate
the music from the movies Rajesh Khanna starred in.
Also expected to have fans toe-tapping, clapping and dancing
away are a host of featured local singers including Sharmaine Deol, Eshara
Maharaj, Seleena Mohanlal and Ugesh Singh. To top off the anticipated line-up,
South Africa’s leading showband, the Chonchords, will see to the music backing
of the live show.
