Facilitator Kayley Jane says: “We at COMMUNITY ZA aim to be a people,
and a space, that nurtures the creative culture in our local community.
“Our goal is to partner with local artists, poets, musicians, film
makers, performers and the like, and in doing so, expand the creative space in
our beloved city. We hope to be relevant to our current evolving society
through our exhibitions and events. Alongside this core value, we have set out
to support local businesses in whatever capacity that we can.
(“Wisdom” - work by
Wayne Richards)
“We believe in nurturing the creative, choosing a business-style of
collaboration, and further exploring what it means to function as a community.
We are open only during exhibitions from 09h00 to 16h00 weekdays. Most of our
exhibitions launch on a Thursday evening, however, where we enjoy a glass of
wine or a cup of coffee together.”
Community ZA hopes to host exhibitions of all kinds, pop up stores,
workshops, film screenings and performance arts etc. They also host many
private events; and are able to accommodate 50 seated and 100-150 standing.
