The 8th Annual Children’s Theatre Festival
is back! It will runs on September 18 and 19, 2018, at the Courtyard Theatre –
DUT.
Join the DUT Drama Department for a
fabulous festival atmosphere, fun family activities and theatrical
entertainment to top it off!
The DUT Drama students are using the
Children’s Theatre Festival 2018 to fundraise and welcomes support.
Alongside tasty treats and prizes to be
won, the organisers proudly present this year’s original production:
Courtyard’s Crazy Magic, written and
directed by lecturers Lee-Anne Naicker and Donna Steel, and performed by a
talented cast of DUT first year students. Four unsuspecting visitors at the
Courtyard Theatre become entangled in this hilarious tale which unravels before
their eyes. A jealous dragon terrorizes the kingdom in order to get his beauty
sleep. The Queen is determined to solve the mysteries lurking in her magical
bejewelled garden. Frog princes, a shoe-designing diva and a brave soldier are
caught up in the enchantment and mayhem. Will the dancing continue or will the
music awaken the dragon? Come join us to see how the story unfolds.
This exciting show is suitable for all
ages. Hour-long performances take place on September 18 and 19, 2018, at 12h00
and 18h00.
Tickets R50 (R30 student or pensioner) will
