Godfrey Johnson returns to Durban with a show celebrating
some of his favourite artists. An evening of Jacques Brel, Noel Coward, Cole
Porter, Leonard Cohen, Kurt Weill and more. The show, which will run at Rhumbelow
Tina’s Hotel in Kloof from September 21 to 23, is filled with pathos, humour
and a dash of madness.
Come and enjoy this colourful musical journey of poetry and
piano. Johnson will perform some favourites such as Brel’s Marieke, Coward’s, Mrs
Worthington, Cohen’s Hallelujah
and his own original songs.
Godfrey Johnson has performed in over 200 productions and
has won numerous awards over the years. He was recently nominated for Fleur du
Cap Awards in three categories for his work in his one-man show, Vaslav (best actor in a musical, best
performance in a solo show and best musical score). Recent hit shows include, The Shadow of Brel, Flirting with Coward
and Unzipped.
Shows take place on
Friday and Saturday (September 21 and 22) with performances at 20h00 with the Sunday
show (September 23) starting at 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before show
for picnic dinner.
Tickets R150 (R130
pensioners) and tables seat 6. (No alcohol or food may be brought on to the
