10 YEARS ON 10 ARTISTS!

(Work by Coral Spencer)

The Green Gallery’s 10th Anniversary exhibition, 10 Years On 10 Artists! features 10 artists  who have been supportive of The Green Gallery and whose art work adorns many homes in KZN, South Africa and overseas.

Together the Green Gallery owners have years of experience in the business of selling art, bronzes and framing.

Michelle Dodds and Sarah Lawrence have always been in the gallery industry having previously been partners in their own galleries. Dodds was a partner in The Crouse Gallery on the Berea before it closed and Lawrence in a Gallery in Harare Zimbabwe before she moved to Durban.

Maureen Dixon was situated in Johannesburg where she was involved with the Watercolour Society of SA, The Ivy Gallery and ran the ‘Black Like Us “ initiative with Herman Mashaba owner of ‘Black Like Me" who sponsored this annual event for 10 years.

During the years between them, they were able to give each artist a platform - encouraging and teaching many artists in art business, featuring their work in galleries and removing their work from street corners. The threesome have incorporated their intellectual capital, formed The Green Gallery and have uplifted a number of artists over the last ten years.

The Green Gallery has been situated in Flanders Mall Mount Edgecombe for 10 years this month. The gallery would like to thank the artists and customers for their ongoing support.

Artists featured on the exhibition are Andy Anderson; Coral Spencer; Judy Wentzel; Julie Mayo; Justin Mashora; Lieze Meyer; Nicole Pletts; Shirley Brandon; Sue Whitmore and Allen Kupeta.

The exhibition runs from October 10 to 17, 2018. The opening takes place at 18h00 on October 10.

The Green Gallery is situated at Shop 19, in the Flanders Mall, Flanders Drive, Mount Edgecombe. More information on 031 502 2757.
