The Durban Catholic Players’ Guild has
produced the Carols by Candlelight in
Durban every year since 1952. This year marks the 66th production and there
will be an event this evening (December 17, 2018) at 19h00 at Greyville
Racecourse.
“We believe in spreading the message of
peace, love and joy at Christmas time. The story of the Nativity is performed,
and traditional Christmas Carols are sung so that everyone can join in to
celebrate the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago. Our Patron in
Durban is Cardinal Wilfrid Napier who will attend the performance and deliver a
special Christmas message and a blessing to all those present,” says the Guild
spokesperson.
There is no entry charge for the Carols by Candlelight but patrons are
asked to bring a toy for a needy child. Candles are provided. Enquiries to Dawn
on 083 564 2929.
