From charming hosts Andy Samberg and Sandra
Oh to stunning red carpet fashion and the subtle but powerful reference to the
#TimesUp movement, the 76th Golden Globe Awards were nothing short of good,
clean fun. As always, the prestigious ceremony was broadcast live on M-Net
Movies Premiere channel 104 on Monday January 7 at 03h00, with a delayed
broadcast on M-Net channel 101 at 20h00 on the same day.
Big winners in film included the dramedy Green Book which picked up three
statuettes and the musical biopic Bohemian
Rhapsody where Rami Malek took home the award for Best Performance by an
Actor in a Motion Picture or Drama for his role as the iconic Freddie Mercury.
In the world of series, host Sandra Oh gave
an emotional acceptance speech when she received her Golden Globe for Killing Eve, while Patricia Clarkson
became a first-time winner for her role in the gritty HBO drama Sharp Objects. Patricia Arquette and Ben
Wishaw also picked up Globes for their roles in Escape from Dannemora and A
Very English Scandal respectively, which aired on M-Net 101. And after six
seasons of super-secret spy drama, The Americans won the award for Best Drama,
the final season of this series is currently airing on M-Net 101 on Wednesdays
at 21:00.
