Friends of Music have planned the following
recitals at the Durban Jewish Centre for the first few months of 2019:
February 26, 2018: Pallavi Mahidhara
(Piano)
Exciting solo pianist, the Indian- American
Pallavi Mahidhara is on a return visit to South Africa to perform for the KZN Philharmonic
Orchestra.
She has found time in her busy schedule to appear on the FOM programme
in a concert which will include works by Debussy, Chaminade and Clara Schumann.
March 10, 2018: Brian Wallick (Piano)
Old friend Bryan Wallick, American born but
now resident in South Africa returns to the Friends of Music stage for the
first time since 2016 to give a solo piano recital.
He will play works by Franck,
Schumann, Barber and Liszt.
April 30, 2019: Agnese Eglina (Piano)
The ebullient Latvian pianist, Agnese
Eglina, who made a great impression in 2017 when she played an rousing
programme of dance music for Friends of Music, will be back. She promises that
she will perform an equally exciting programme.
The Durban Jewish Centre will be undergoing
renovations and the first recital on February 26, 2018, will be performed with
a brand new floor and stage.
