The KZNSA Gallery offers an insightful Masterclass on January, 3 2019,
from 16h00 to 17h30.
Artists and KZNSA Gallery Saturday Sessions teachers, Nikhil Tricam and
Nivesh Rawatlal, share their creative processes and insights into their
illustration practice.
Tricam is an artist and architect living in Durban. His exploration of
the city began with urban art and illustration, and through time has evolved to
into loose, ink impressions of the city. His work focuses on the interplay
between the static, built context of building and street and the dynamic, ever
changing forces that give life to the urban realm. He works in ink, acrylic,
graphite and pencil, and has begun exploring documenting the city through the
lens. Tricam is co-director of NT Design Studio, a multidisciplinary design
practice that encompasses architecture, industrial design and graphic work, and
a member of the KUSH art collective.
Rawatlal is a Durban designer and artist. His work puts a wonderfully
fresh take on South African life and culture. You might even recognise his
style in the 2018 poster for Zakifo Music Festival. He has been a part of a
number of creative events in Durban. He is currently a lecturer and freelance
designer.
All are welcome and entry is free.
The KZNSA Gallery is situated at 166 Bulwer Road, Glenwood, in Durban.
