MASWITSI BAND LIVE IN CONCERT

(Kgethi Nkotsi)

The Maswitsi Band will perform at The Jazzy Rainbow on Friday, May 10, 2019.

This performance by the Maswitsi Band at The Jazzy Rainbow is part of the Concerts SA Venue Circuit which aims to foster a love and support for live music in communities, as well as anchor small and medium sized venues in urban and rural Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape.

Maswitsi (Sesotho for sweets) is a quintet project created by Stanley Matlou and Kgethi Nkotsi. Maswitsi will present music composed by Kgethi and arranged by both artists for the very first time during this concert.

Tebogo Stanley Matlou learned how to play the drums at the Moses Molelekwa Arts Foundation where he was taught by Jerry ‘’Bra Monk’’ Molelekwa himself. The talented line-up features Kgethi Nkotsi (trombone), Leon Scharnick (alto saxophone), Obakeng Thamage (piano), Freeman Gumede (electric bass) and Stanley Matlou (drums).

The performance will take place on May 10 at 19h00. Entrance R50, including a free drink for students (T&C). The Jazzy Rainbow is situated at 93 Smiso Nkwanyana Road, Morningside. Bookings on 031 303 8398 or email: jazzyrainbow@mweb.co.za
