The Westville Theatre Club invites aspiring
actors/actresses to attend auditions to be held on June Sunday 30 and Monday July
1, 2019. (You need only attend one of the auditions.)
The auditions are for The Importance of Being Ernest by Oscar Wilde and will be directed
by Maya Zozulya.
First performed on February 1895 at the St
James’s Theatre in London, it is a farcical comedy in which the protagonists
maintain fictitious persona to escape burdensome social obligations. Working
within the social conventions of late Victoria London, the play’s major themes
are the triviality with which it treats institutions as serious as marriage,
and the resulting satire of Victorian ways.
Auditions take place at the Westville
Theatre Club on June 30 at 11h00 and July 1 at 18h00 at the theatre club, 6 St James
Avenue, Westville.
The production will run from September 19
to 22 and again from September 25 to 28, 2019.
