The days of Durban being considered as a
“poor coastal cousin” and thus being given the miss by top international and
local stage acts are over.
A new partnership between marketing ace
Renée Burton and comedian Stuart Taylor will see Durban featuring on the
billing of big-name stars.
“The time is ripe for collaborative
partnerships to leverage the opportunities offered by Durban which can so
easily stake its claim as South Africa’s premier entertainment destination. The
expertise, networks and synergies brought to the table by Blue Door Theory and
Taylor Made Productions working as a collective will be far more beneficial
than operating in isolation. We are very excited about our latest project,”
said Burton, creative director and owner of Blue Door Theory.
She said collaboration beyond geographical
borders is imperative for business sustainability.
“Contrary to popular belief, Durban is a
viable business option for live entertainment by top shows from abroad and
locally. “Testament to the success of the partnership are two companies from
two different cities coming together to create an authentic lifestyle offering
catering for the entertainment needs of a discerning market,” she added.
Burton who has more than 15 years’
experience as a seasoned sustainability, marketing and business communications
professional said small businesses need to work together to ensure everyone
gets a slice of the pie.
