Top 30 Ideas for creating a connected Christmas in Durban

Founder Foods, the dedicated Whole Foods Store at 2 Village Road in Kloof is hosting an event that focuses on the benefits of simpler living and the giving of experiences and connection opposed to physical items this Christmas.

Roxanne McLean, said, “We will be showcasing the top 30 experience and activity related gift ideas for Christmas, available from businesses within the Upper Highway and Durban areas not only to help people create a less stressful, more memorable and more connected Christmas but also to facilitate support for local small businesses. The proceeds of the event will be donated to the Upper Highway Baby Home.

The event will be held on Black Friday, November 29, 2019, at 2 Village Way in Kloof. There are two events split into separate sessions on the same day: 09h30 to 11h30 and 17h00 to 19h00.

Estelle Van Gelder, simple living advocate and founder of DandyLine Professional Organisers, will be doing a talk on the benefits of living a simpler lifestyle, Kerry Stanton (Founder of Upper Highway Baby Home) will be doing a brief introduction into the baby home, what they do and some of their challenges. Estelle and Roxanne, owner of Founder Foods, will be going through the top 30 activities/experiences and ideas for Christmas that promote simpler, more-connected Christmas (the businesses to feature have all been invited to submit the details of their events for presentation as well as contribute towards giveaways on the day).

Experiences and activities to be featured includes details of: various farm tours, a wide range of cooking classes to suit every taste, dancing lessons, 4 x 4 track access pass and driving courses, specialized gardening courses, African drumming session and lesson, various music lessons, photography courses and sessions, healthy Christmas treats cooking workshop, surfing lessons, pole dancing lessons, crafting courses, learn to speak Zulu course, catered romantic or family picnic, interior decorating courses or home decorating consults, local yoga retreats, image consulting sessions and local theatre tickets, all available from businesses in the area.
