Andrew Philips’ winning short, Intergalactic Ice-cream will premiere on Cartoon Network Africa, DStv channel 301, on January 11, 2020, at 17h15 CAT, and will repeat on January 12 at 18h10.

Philips is a South African animator/writer based in Cape Town who has a passion for developing kids' series projects.

Among the many entries received, he was named one of three winners of Cartoon Network Africa’s Creative Lab competition, an initiative which started in June 2018, as a pan-African call for pitch competition, with the objective of not only finding African talents, but helping bring to life their local story gems through animation.
