Once again the University of KwaZulu Natal
(School of Arts) proudly presents the African Music and Dance 3A Lunch Hour
Concerts which will take place in the Howard College Theatre on March 18, 2020,
from 12h20.
Do not miss out this show titled Imbila Yaswela Umsila Ngokuyalezela which
means as a person you must not rely on other people to do things that are primarily
your responsibility.
The aim is to fuse and synthesize a variety
of African dances and music genres, namely Maskandi, Gospel, Traditional Music
in addition to African Contemporary Dances. In addition, the concert aspires to
create a harmonic-melody-rhythmic mix using instruments like Zulu drums Djembe
drums from Mali and Conga drums.
This performance is brought together by AMD
Group 3 Members: Thembelani Gansa, Mlungisi Magcaba, Nonkululeko Madlopha,
Sinamathemba Ngcobo, with assistance from other students from the School of
Arts (UKZN).
