PLAYHOUSE PLANS OVER CORONAVIRUS

All scheduled productions and events at The Playhouse Company have been postponed. This has become necessary following the limit of 100 people placed on gatherings in South Africa by the country’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, in efforts to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

With the safety of staff, artists and patrons paramount, and in line with actions taken by most theatres and entertainment organisations countywide, The Playhouse Company has postponed all scheduled productions – as well as the 10th Sishaya Ingoma, the popular traditional Zulu dance competition that had been scheduled for March 21 at Durban’s Currie’s Fountain.

“No scheduled productions will be staged by The Playhouse Company until the end of May, or until further notice,” said Linda Bukhosini, Chief Executive Officer and Artistic Director of The Playhouse Company, an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture, which embraces the government’s principles of social cohesion and nation-building.

“New dates and times for all planned productions will be posted on The Playhouse Company website and social media platforms as soon as they are finalised,” she added.

Patrons requesting refunds for productions for which they have booked are requested to log on to their Webtickets profile, click on "My Order History" and select “Refund Tickets” next to their transaction. Anyone who bought tickets with a credit card will be refunded to the card used to make payment. Those who paid via Pick n Pay or EFT will be prompted to enter banking details and will receive a confirmation email. Refunds will be processed and paid within five working days.

For further information, contact the Playhouse box-office on (031) 369 9596/40. Staff there will also be able to assist with more information on the cancellation/refund or exchange process. The Playhouse box-office is open between 09h00 and 17h00, every Monday to Friday.
