THE WHITE CROW FOR M-NET

(Oleg Ivenko)

M-Net (channel 101) will screen the movie The White Crow on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at 22h50.

Ralph Fiennes directs this intense biopic. Follow the remarkable true story of Rudolf Nureyev, the Soviet dancer who caused an international incident when he defected to the West.

Rudolf Nureyev travels to Paris to fulfil his dream of becoming a top ballet dancer. However, he faces resistance from KGB officers and ultimately finds himself in a perilous situation.

Nureyev is played by Oleg Ivenko with Adèle Exarchopoulos as Clara Saint and Ralph Fiennes as Alexander Pushkin.

The film is based on Rudolf Nureyev: The Life by Julie Kavanagh. The title is a reference to his childhood moniker of white crow (with a somewhat similar meaning to "black sheep" in English), because he was unusual.
