Friends of Music have released their programme of concerts for the next couple of months – August 29 to October 31, 2021:
August 29: KwaZulu- Natal Youth Orchestra conducted by Lykele Temmingh
A celebration of the best young musicians
the province of KZN has to offer. A glimpse into our musical future.
September 19: The Midlands Trio
Featuring friends Maggie Deppe (oboe,
piano); Ilse Myburgh (piano) and Charl van der Merwe (bassoon). They will
perform an eclectic selection of music including two French trios especially composed
for oboe, piano, and bassoon.
October 3: Rising Stars
Presented by the South African Society of
Music Teachers (SASMT) featuring their top students of the year.
October 31: Platform Jazz
Durban’s wonderful eight-piece swing jazz
band will entertain at this picnic concert.
All concerts will take place at 15h00 at
the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 KE Masinga Road (depending on the lockdown
situation)
All Covid protocols will be observed.
