Well-known theatre director Pieter Scholtz and friends invite audiences to an evening of entertainment, conviviality, delectable bistro fare and food for thought to next week’s Mondays @ 6 programme at St Clements Restaurant in Musgrave on September 6, 2021.
The evening will feature raconteur Pat Smythe who returns to St Clements with stories of wit and wisdom, bushveld and rural dorps, these shared by Spyker Koekemoer (in the Herman Charles Bosman idiom).
All this, served up with Steve Clements and his team’s great nosh and vibe.
“A fellow like Spyker Koekemoer (aka Pat Smythe) could bring the house down reading a Chappies bubblegum wrapper.” — Graham Linscott, The Idler.
In Pat Smythe’s own words: “Spyker Koekemoer is my alter ego, my nom de plume. I love the back roads of South Africa where stories ambush you (politely) at every turn. I am delighted to be alive, delighted to be able to enjoy the release of writing. I sincerely hope that my words and thoughts will give rise to the odd contrarian question in your mind, whilst at the same time bringing a little humour that lingers”.
When the donations box is passed around, the suggested minimum is R50 per person.
Wear a mask. Covid protocols observed.
Outdoors (dress accordingly) and carefully spaced seating. It rained unexpectedly last month but the audience was able to move inside and onto the front porch and maintained Covid protocols with windows open.
